Camarillo State Mental Hospital
I live on the site of the former Camarillo State Mental Hospital. It’s now a great university (California State University of Channel Islands) however some of the buildings are still abandoned. One of my favorite things to do after work and on weekends is walk around the old buildings taking pictures. I have countless pictures but here are a few I wanted to share. ~Kimberly
Scary Dairy & Barn, Camarillo CA
This is the old dairy located down the road from the former Camarillo State Mental Hospital. The hospital used the area and this facility for agriculture and dairy. I have NEVER been here at night. It’s far off the main road and you can tell from the graffiti you might know what you hang out here at night.
Alcatraz, San Francisco CA
Liz and I took a trip to Alcatraz, a very notorious prison off the shores of San Francisco. This is a dream paranormal investigation destination however it’s really hard to get in there, so a daily tour will just have to do! ~Kimberly
The RMS Queen Mary, Long Beach CA
The Ghost Girls have spent many nights, and many investigations aboard this stately ship. It’s one of our most favorite haunts. I liked these pictures because they show the history of the ship.
CEMETERIES!!!
On almost every trip I try to visit the local cemeteries. I know this section will grow. I have mass amounts of cemetery pics. I think I have to create a Flicker account for them. But here are just a few…

When i was around 12 maybe 13, my parents tried to have me committed into Camarilo state hospital. Because i had fits of rage, i was a run away. It was the mid 70’s. They felt it was the only way to controll me. Ive been by this place in the 98, 99. But there wasnt anyone around. It was very spoky. In the early 80’s i dated this guy who’s mom worked there, and they had apartments for some of the employees to live in. She had some really creepy stories. Some patients were aloud to go out side, they were so drugged up on some really heavy stuff. I dont like how they turned into a college. But i like going to haunted places.
When i married my frist husband, his mother passed, he was the youngest of 11 kids. He was a opps a baby. She haunted that house. You could hear her walk down the hall. She would lock me in the bathroom, there were no lockes on the bathroom door. Her room was freezing i would turn the heater up to max, all the vents open. You go into her room, you can feel the air coming out. Yet it was very cold. She did a few other things to me. Finally i convinced him to move out. His cousins were staying there we were watching tv. We heard what sounded like an old lady shoes walk up to the door. Buy no one was there. We all walked around the house to see if someone was messing around. We went back inside, and then you could hear her walj away. Thats when he finally believed me that the house was really haunted….just walking up to the door you could feel the negative energy. I have this gift of knowing if someone died in a room etc. The hair on my neck and arms would stand straight up. I just get these gut wrenching feelings. I can sometimes see outlines, feel them around me. My dog is worse then me. Ill be watching tv and all of a sudden he is looking at something, and i get that gut feeling. Luckily none have been a bad or mean spirit. I got all kinds of stories. I dont like watching ghost chashers. I feel that its a joke, if they didnt talk so much and really had the gift, i might believe them. But even im laughed at, so its just something you need to believe or not. I love how ya’ll have gone to those places, i could go to San Francisco to the Rock, to much negative energy. Well I’ve said to much i hope to share more stories with you. Wow! Great stories. Than you for sharing them! It’s kind of sad to see the university take over the buildings (only because I love the look and feel of old abandoned buildings), however they are doing a good job of holding onto the history of the buildings, the ones they aren’t tearing down that is. The campus is really pretty and haunted! Just walking though the grounds one day, I saw a man/woman (couldn’t tell) from the 1970’s, in a knee length patchwork, fur coat, walk by me. Of course when I turned my head to look at them straight on they vanished.

I also enjoy walking thru old cemeteries, my dad used to work at this funeral home. I always would go in where the bodies were set for viewing. Say a little prayer. I never was afraid to look at dead ppl. I just wasnt aloud to go in the area where they prep them. My parents think im nuts. Anyway thought id share that too. Lol
